Itinerary

  1. 1
    Medieval City

7 hr - Start your day with a pickup from your centrally located Marmaris hotel or meet your air-conditioned vehicle at a pre-arranged location. Then, travel to the port and board your high-speed catamaran to Rhodes, the largest of the Greek Dodecanese islands. Enjoy the views of the Aegean Sea as you make your 45-minute crossing to Rhodes Town, the island’s charming capital. Conveniently, the ferry port is an easy walk from the walled Rhodes Old Town, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities. When you arrive, you’re free to do as you wish, with no itineraries tying you down. Do as most visitors do and head straight for the UNESCO-listed Rhodes Old Town, entering through one of the seven gates in its walls. Then, spend the day exploring the cobbled streets and Gothic, Frankish and Ottoman gems of this stunning district founded by the Knights of St John in the 14th century. Admire the Street of the Knights and visit the Palace of the Grand Masters, Archaeological Museum and Museum of Decorative Arts. Delve into the maze-like alleys to see the gorgeous medieval architecture; shop for Rhodean lace and ceramics, and sample Greek dishes at the tavernas and cafes. Alternatively, hit the capital’s modern shopping district, laze on its beaches or absorb the views from historic Mandraki Harbour, once the site of the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. All entrance fees, meals and drinks are at your own expense. Return to the port in the late afternoon to catch your catamaran back to Turkey. Then, on arrival in Marmaris enjoy a drop-off back at your hotel.

Stunning place! Not to be missed

Great day! The only downside was the queue for customs at each side but worth it when you get into Rhodes Old town. You literally walk out of the boat and into the old town in 5 minutes. Def recommend!

Amazing day trip via ferry to Rhodes

We were advised in good time about our pickup time from our hotel. The shuttle to and from the ferry port was comfortable. There were queues on both the Turkish and Greek side but that is out of the control of the tour operators. The ferry trip itself was fairly ok ; clean, enough seating, helpful staff. Rhodes was beautiful and we had plenty of time to explore. One really good way to help future passengers ; put a note like this with all booking confirmations; IF YOU MAY SUFFER FROM MOTION /TRAVEL SICKNESS, PLEASE SIT AT THE BACK OF THE FERRY. The ride to Rhodes was really bumpy. To their credit, the ferry staff did tell nauseous passengers to move to the back; unfortunately, by then it was too late! One of our group vomited, which was not nice for them or nearby passengers due to the smell.

From Turkey to Greece

We left early in the morning and we went quickly through a passport check, There´s little tax free shop before boarding. We were 4 adults and the boat trip lasted about 45 min. The ship was full. You can buy coffee and snacks from the ship. We went from Marmaris to Rhodes. There is no long to walk from the port of Rhodes to old town. There is nice alleys to walk and ruins to explore. Prices are expensive compared to Turkey. Also be careful there were African ladies who very forcefully try to put bracelets on your arm and then demand money from you. Just ignore them. Way back to Marmaris. In Rhodes the passport check queue was long and it was hot queuing in the sun. I recommend that you bring water along to drink. Slowly we moved forward. In Marmaris everything worked fast again. I recommend!

Arduous journey to a lovely town

The catamaran crossing....the crew were amazing in handing out the sick bags and paper towels which many of the passengers needed. Rhodes old town stopped for refreshments...€14 for a milkshake! To be fair, it was a stein :-) Superb restaurant the Ronda within walking distance well worth a visit. An enjoyable day out. The return journey was by ferry and much nicer.
