Thoroughly enjoyed this - relaxed day but still quite tiring ! Lots of free time to swim in the warm waters . Take your own goggles or mask for when you’re not diving

One off the bucket list

Through no fault of the diving boat's crew the pick up was late by almost half an hour. This didn't matter as the boat waits for all of its transports to arrive.
We then set off on the boat. The boat itself was lovely. Clean and well equipped with toilets, changing rooms and refreshments.
The crew were very friendly and clearly good at what they do evidenced by the boat parking and tuition from the instructors. We were given a thorough briefing on hand signals, technique and best practice for use of the equipment.
Equipment (the wet suits) are a little dated but perfectly fine for its purpose. They have suits to fit all different shapes and sizes.
We only went a short distance around the bay. About a mile and a half so we were out of sight of the marina. We anchored up and went through our first dive. At this point I was asked if I'd like photos and video of my experience. I did. And to be fair it is a very reasonable price - 250 tkl which is about £12.50. These images etc are transferred to your phone on the return journey via USB cable.
The first dive was exciting as I had never done it before. Initially a very claustrophobic feeling but this goes when you relax. Putting your face in the water really helps with this. We then went down the the sea bed (about 3 meters) where we had photos taken using a go pro. We fed fish from our hands and had a small movement around and under the boat. The views are mesmerising. It was over really quickly, I could have stayed there for over an hour. Don't worry the sea life there is very inoffensive...no sharks etc.
After the first dive you have time to yourself. A sandwich lunch is provided, chips are also available for an extra cost. I took the opportunity to swim around the boat and to the local reef - safety note the rocks are very sharp and coupled with the force of the water pushing you onto them you may cut your hands or feet.
I was expecting to go to a different location for our second dive but unfortunately we stayed in the same place. The second dive was supposed to be 20 minutes but was actually about 5 minutes. We went the other direction from the boat and through a hole in the reef before going straight back. A little disappointing but the views were still spectacular more than worth it.
After the dive we had another hour to ourselves. I had a sunbathe on the top deck this time. We then began our trip back to the marina but stopped at a large rock for the experienced divers to go through a much larger tunnel. I don't see why the rest of us couldn't have done this aswell, but I'm guessing it was for safety reasons.
In total we were away from the Dock for about 6 hours.
Although more diving could have been completed, the experience for me as a novice was well worth the money.

Scuba wasn't just for beginners, three of us OW or higher. Had a great time. Tour used barracudabrothers. Com, would recommend.
